The 2025 Eurocup-3 season enters its most iconic stretch this week as the championship travels to Spa-Francorchamps for Round 6. Nestled deep in the Belgian Ardennes, Spa’s combination of technical challenge, racing heritage and weather unpredictability makes it one of the most demanding circuits of the year for both drivers and engineers.
Following a the pivotal round at Assen, Mattia Colnaghi has emerged as the new championship leader with 177 points, thanks to a victory and another strong points finish in the Netherlands. Valerio Rinicella follows closely with 165 points, keeping up his remarkable consistency and confirming his title credentials. Ernesto Rivera, who led the standings heading into Assen, now sits third with 136 points, while Kacper Sztuka remains in the hunt with 128 points, rounding out a fiercely competitive top four.
In the Teams’ Championship, Mp Motorsport continues to lead with 368 points, with Griffin Core by Campos in second on 225 points, just one ahead of Campos Racing on 224, setting the stage for a three-way battle in both classifications.
Now, the challenge shifts to Spa, a circuit that needs no introduction. From the infamous Eau Rouge-Raidillon complex to the high-speed blasts through Blanchimont and Kemmel Straight, the 7.004 km layout demands absolute commitment. Overtaking is frequent, especially at Les Combes, Bruxelles and the Bus Stop chicane. But Spa is also a track where weather can change in minutes and where mastering tyre strategy and confidence in changeable grip conditions is often the key to success.

The weekend format will see all competitive running condensed into Thursday and Friday. Track activity begins on Thursday with 2 hours and 20 minutes of testing in the morning, followed by a 40-minute Free Practice session in the afternoon. On Friday, the fight for pole will start early with Qualifying 1 at 09:45, followed directly by Qualifying 2 at 10:15 after a short break. Both races will also take place on Friday: Race 1 at 14:30, and Race 2 under the evening light at 18:30, wrapping up a spectacular one-day showdown in the Ardennes.
