The fourth round of the 2025 Eurocup-3 season at Monza delivered high drama, mixed fortunes, and another major shift in the championship standings, with Ernesto Rivera reclaiming the points lead in a weekend split between survival and strategy.

The opening race on Saturday was nothing short of chaotic, with eleven retirements and multiple incidents disrupting the action. It proved nearly impossible to complete a lap without a Safety Car intervention. Despite the turmoil, Ernesto Rivera (Campos Racing) navigated the chaos brilliantly, managing each restart with composure to secure a crucial win — one that also propelled him back to the top of the championship standings.

Andrés Cárdenas claimed a long-awaited first podium of the season in second place, while Valerio Rinicella recovered from early contact to complete the podium in third, strengthening his title credentials. Behind them, Maciej Gładysz finished fourth in his best result since Spielberg, while Mattia Colnaghi and Juan Cota, both carrying grid penalties from qualifying, fought through the field to finish sixth and ninth respectively with the Spaniard taking first points of the season.

Sunday’s Sprint Race brought a much cleaner contest, but no less tension. In a tactical duel between the MP Motorsport teammatesMattia Colnaghi edged out Valerio Rinicella in a thrilling 18-lap showdown. After quickly overtaking polesitter Jules Caranta, the two Italians locked horns until the final lap, with Colnaghi defending relentlessly to cross the line just two tenths ahead. The victory marked Colnaghi’s third of the season and brought him within four points of the overall lead.

Behind them, Enzo Tarnvanichkul earned his first podium of 2025 in third place, overtaking James Egozi mid-race in a strong drive from the Red Bull Junior. Rivera, recovering from contact with Gładysz early on, climbed from tenth to fifth to minimize damage, while Jesse CarrasquedoFrancisco Macedo, and Kacper Sztuka also finished in the points. Sztuka, who arrived in Monza as a contender, now falls to fourth in the standings.

As the championship reaches its halfway point, Ernesto Rivera leads with 136 points, followed closely by Mattia Colnaghi (132) and Valerio Rinicella (124). Despite not yet winning a race, Rinicella’s consistency keeps him firmly in contention. Kacper Sztuka, now on 106 points, slips slightly behind but remains in the hunt.

In the teams’ championship, MP Motorsport extends its lead with 286 points, ahead of Campos Racing (219) and Griffin Core by Campos (187).

The fifth round of the season will take place at Assen from August 8–10, marking Eurocup-3’s first visit to the Dutch circuit before the summer break.
