Masson and Boya meet in Barcelona for the Eurocup-3 title showdown

For the second consecutive event, Esteban Masson and Mari Boya have shared the wins in Eurocup-3. The event held in Valencia concludes with the Frenchman leading by just one point over the Spaniard, and Sebastian Ogaard still lurking at 15 points behind with 56 available ahead Season Finale in Barcelona.

Masson started the weekend strongly by securing his fourth pole position of the season and went on to claim his sixth victory uncontested in Race 1 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

Starting from pole position, the Campos Racing Frenchman held off José Garfias and Mari Boya until the finish line. Masson got a comfortable margin of 1.346 seconds over the Mexican and the Spaniard in first laps to defend position. The Dutch team did not issue team orders and even Boya had to keep an eye on Tasanapol Inthrapuvasak on his back to defend podium position, who was closely followed by Sebastian Ogaard, the third contender in the championship, and who lost several points in this race.

BOYA WINS AND THE TITLE FIGHT IS CLOSEST THAN EVER

The second race in Valencia confirmed the resurgence of MP Motorsport, with Mari Boya taking Pole in Qualifying 2 and securing his fifth victory of the year over Sebastian Ogaard, with Esteban Masson finishing in fifth place.

Boya dominated the second race from lights-to-flag, leaving Ogaard 9 seconds behind. On the third step of the podium was a consistent José Garfias, while Bruno Del Pino held onto fourth place to become Rookie of the Year, taking advantage of his main rival’s retirement in the first lap.

With these results, Masson remains the leader with just a 1-point advantage over Boya and 15 points over Ogaard, with 56 points still up for grabs. On the other hand, Mp Motorsport leaves Valencia at the top of the team standings with a 30-point lead over Campos Racing

Eurocup-3 Season Finale will be held at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain) on November 10-12.
