The series visited Montmeló in 2023 with Esteban Masson and Mari Boya fighting for the title. The French young gun had his best weekend of the year taking both wins, poles and fastest laps to become first ever Eurocup-3 champion.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya boasts one of the most distinctive layouts, with three very different sections, featuring fast turns, long straights, heavy braking points, and a technical zone. The track’s elevation changes also make it unique. Thousands of spectators are expected in the stands during this edition of the NAPA Racing Weekend, where fans can also enjoy Eurocup-3, Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica, and Toyota GR Cup Spain.
As it stands…
Spa-Francorchamps and Red Bull Ring proved a fantastic start to the season for MP Motorsport taking all wins. The Portuguese round in Portimao was different, with Christian Ho emergin with R1 & R2 wins to put himself into the battle for the title alongside Sainteloc Racing’s Alexander Abkhazava, who took the win in crazy final lap in Race 3.
Then first visit to French soil put Christian Ho on top of the standings after his third victory in 2024 but an almost perfect weekend for Javier Sagrera at Circuit Zandvoort with 2 Poles and 2 wins brought the Spaniard back into the lead.
Then the fourth win of the season for Sagrera in Alcañiz followed by not the best weekend for his rivales, gave him an important points margin going into the final phase of the season.
Now, Sagrera has achieved 8 podiums including 3 wins in last nine races showing a great consistency. Right behind is Christian Ho, with four wins this year too and just a little step below in terms of points but ready for the battle.
The standings
Javier Sagrera, after securing double podium in Jerez (10th of the year), leads the standings with 228 points. Chasing the Spaniard, is Christian Ho (202 points), who has all but secured the Rookie of the Year title. Finally, the Spanish driver Bruno del Pino will start the weekend with 192 points and just looking to his main rivals
As for the battle for the team title, MP Motorsport maintains an 96-point lead over Campos Racing. With 88 points still up for grabs, the Dutch squad is really close to be crowned as new Eurocup-3 champions.
