After two intense rounds in Austria and Portugal, the 2025 Eurocup-3 championship moves to France this weekend for round three at the iconic Circuit Paul Ricard. A 29-car grid will once again fight for every point as the battle for the title intensifies.
The second round at Portimão shook up the title fight with a weekend full of standout performances. Mexico’s Ernesto Rivera climbed to the top of the standings with two podium finishes, including his first-ever Eurocup-3 victory, confirming his status as a serious title contender. Kacper Sztuka also impressed, scoring two more podiums and a pole position to move into second overall. Meanwhile, former leader Mattia Colnaghi focused on damage limitation but remains firmly in the hunt. There were breakthrough results for Jules Caranta, who secured his best finish yet with a superb second place, and Alex Abkhazava, who returned to the podium at his favourite track. James Egozi also made headlines by clinching his maiden win, establishing himself as a rising threat in the championship.
Located in Le Castellet, the Circuit Paul Ricard is famous for its long Mistral Straight and demanding mix of high-speed corners and technical sections. Drivers reach top speed before tackling the iconic Signes corner flat-out, while the tight chicane and the twisty final sector challenge car balance and tyre wear. Overtaking is possible in the heavy braking zones, but changing winds and the abrasive surface can easily catch out even the most consistent drivers.
The weekend at Paul Ricard will begin on Friday with two Official Previous Test sessions at 09:40 and 12:15, followed by the official free practice at 14:25. On Saturday, the drivers will tackle Qualifying 1 at 09:00, with Race 1 taking place at 11:00 and the Sprint Race following at 13:35. The final day of action on Sunday will feature Qualifying 2 at 09:30, setting the grid for Race 2, which will bring the weekend to a close at 12:30.
With momentum shifting round by round, Paul Ricard is ready to write the next thrilling chapter in the 2025 Eurocup-3 season.
