Colnaghi and Gladysz share victories in 2025 Eurocup-3 season kick off at Red Bull Ring

May 20, 2025 by

The 2025 Eurocup-3 season got off to an electrifying start at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, where Mattia Colnaghi and Maciej Gladysz each claimed a race victory in the opening round. With a win, a second-place finish, a pole position, and two fastest laps to his name, the Italian star emerges as the early championship leader after a commanding weekend.

The opening race on Saturday was a dominant display from the reigning Spanish F4 Champion. Starting from pole, Colnaghi controlled the race from lights to flag, leaving no chance for his rivals. Kacper Sztuka and Ernesto Rivera completed the podium after consistent performances.

Sunday brought redemption for Maciej Gladysz. Despite being unable to score on Saturday due to a difficult qualifying session and a charge from the back of the grid, the Polish driver bounced back brilliantly. Frenchman Jules Caranta secured pole position for Race 2, but an intense battle at the start with Colnaghi opened the door for Gladysz. The Polish driver seized the lead at Turn 3 and never looked back, claiming his first win of the season. Colnaghi finished second, while Caranta celebrated his maiden podium in the championship with third place.

After the first round, Mattia Colnaghi tops the standings with 47 points and leads both the overall and rookie classifications. He is followed by Kacper Sztuka (28 points), Maciej Gladysz (25), Ernesto Rivera (23), and Valerio Rinicella (20), rounding out the top five.

In the teams’ standings, MP Motorsport leads the way with 78 points, ahead of Campos Racing (40) and Griffin Core by Campos (34).

The Eurocup-3 grid now looks ahead to Round 2, set to take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from June 6–8.
